BROKEN BUT STILL USEFUL!!!

Image
BROKEN BUT STILL USEFUL!!!   I thought to share this again with someone who is broken and feels useless.  So, after Nysc 2018, I returned to where I served to assist with a long-planned project (NCCF Rural Rugged), knowing how helpful I might be to them. The first day, during our evening cooking, we are to make rice. During this process, the basin on which we placed our large filter broke due to the weight. So we all left to find another basin. Meanwhile, we were about to throw it out when I realized it could still be beneficial. Unconsciously, I made the following statement:  "Broken Vessels Can Still Be Used"  One of the Sisters Coordinators, Mamo, who had traveled from another zone to assist, grinned at me, either because she knew what I meant or because she was asking, "What usefulness?"  It was so nearly entirely Broken that it was of no use. In order to be fast with our cooking, we just kept it on one side then looked for another basin. Therefo...

YOU ARE PERFECTLY CRAFTED BY GOD

YOU ARE PERFECTLY CRAFTED BY GOD  #Girlsgist   I recognize that our physical appearances are frequently what we focus on. I used to imagine of changing my legs. Looking back now, I'm not sure why I wanted to and yes it was because someone gave me a bad compliment. You don't want to know how I felt at that time. This has caused many ladies to lose confidence and prevented them from fully expressing themselves. We all wish for ideal legs, hands, hips, height, and a variety of other features.  Psalms 139:14 KJV, "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well".  Knowing these two powerful words here, "FEARFULLY" and "WONDERFULLY," I've had this so much confidence in how God created me since then, and I still appreciate him that I'm not what I wished for.  Dear sisters, First and foremost, being Fearfully and Wonderfully created refers to both yo...

BEFORE WALKING DOWN THE AISLE. By Mrs. Raquel Daniel

#Girlsgist BEFORE WALKING DOWN THE AISLE. By Mrs. Raquel Daniel I believe it’s an honest desire for single ladies to want someone they also can call a “Husband.” I don’t mean ‘Desperation’ now; ‘Desire’ is the word. Having the desire to marry is a very good thing: “For God, Himself saw that it is not good for a man to be alone,” (Gen 2:18, Prov 18:22). Meaning; as a lady, someone would need you for a helper, which is good. Marrying early is also beautiful; I admire many young couples. There’s just something practical to learn, watching them showcase real virtues even in their homes; Beautiful! But ladies, do not let “age” put you under pressure. That all your friends got married below 25 doesn’t mean being single is a curse. God is a good God; He would not withhold anything good from you (Psalm 84:11). First, let us establish that getting troubled about your single stage, because you do not have a man, is out of tune with God’s idea. That is an underlying issue you should wor...

BEFORE WALKING DOWN THE AISLE. By Mrs. Jennifer Edusei

#Girlsgist BEFORE WALKING DOWN THE AISLE. By Mrs. Jennifer Edusei First of all to the young ladies that do not see there single season as a blessing, please let go of the idea that being single means “there’s something wrong with you! There’s absolutely nothing wrong with you! that’s low self esteem, low self worth & low self love. Your singleness is a blessing! Being single is the TRAINING CAMP for that. You get to INVEST in YOU, build and deepen your relationship with God, find and pursue your passion and become the best version of yourself. I found my purpose when I was single. I got to spend time with God and it deepened my relationship with Him. No emotional, physical or spiritual drama to distract me. I knew that if i leave everything in God’s hands, He will write a beautiful love story for me, which He did BELIEVING IN GOD'S PROMISES Some people are legit single by choice and waiting on The Lord! After all, you can decide to choose from a lot trying t...

BEFORE WALKING DOWN THE AISLE. By Mrs. Funto Ibuoye

#Girlsgist BEFORE WALKING DOWN THE AISLE. By Mrs. Funto Ibuoye There's so much blessing in your single season! I look back at my single season and I'm so glad I maximized my single season and was not preoccupied about marriage and what the next phase would be. Your single season has several phases in it, more like a progression moving from one stage to another. So, Its all about having the right perspective, understanding that you only have this season once in a lifetime and what you do with it would greatly determine what would be obtainable in your next phase. The Word says, "To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven". (Ecclesiastes 3:1) Life is in phases and seasons. God in his wisdom has made it so and he operates by process. This simply means that God has a purpose for your single season. He has alot of things He needs you to accomplish even while single ie friendships/relationships to be made, assignments to be fulfille...

RELATIONSHIP IS A MINISTRY

Image
#Girlsgist By Mary Balogun Dear Sisters! One for me, relationship is a ministry! If you can't see yourself on the path of a guy's life, you do not belong there! If you can't find a place to fit-in in his VISION, he is someone else's bone. Don't just jump into a relationship with a guy because you love him only. Love is not enough! We all can love anyone. Here is it; Look beyond the feelings and emotions, of course they aren't bad in themselves, as a matter of fact, if you do not love a guy, you might need to reconsider your decision before diving into a relationship with him. Love is as important as the relationship itself. But Sis, focus more on how you two can fulfil purpose together in your own capacity. If you can't find something to help him with in the course of his destiny, you might be in a wrong destination. There must be an assignment you're coming into his Iife to help him with. Relationship is not just about the lovey dovey thin...

LOOK INTO THE ONLY MIRROR THAT REALLY MATTERS : GOD'S TRUTH.

LOOK INTO THE ONLY MIRROR THAT REALLY MATTERS : GOD'S TRUTH.  By SHARON JAYNES What do you see when you look in the mirror? Someone who’s not enough, or someone who is more than enough because of the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross and His Spirit in you? I was in the sixth grade when I first ventured into the House of Mirrors at my hometown county fair—a mere 12 years old. My friends and I ran from booth to booth, suckered into paying good money to play rigged games. For hours we gave cash to shady carnival characters in hopes of winning a stuffed purple polka-dotted snake, an oversized tie-dyed teddy bear, or a cheesy piece of jewelry we’d never wear. Personally, I stuck with Pickup Ducks—a sure win. But of all the sideshows at the carnival, it was the House of Mirrors that captured my attention. We walked through maze-like halls, giggling at the distorted images of ourselves. Short and stubby. Tall and lanky. I looked at the various versions of me and tri...
